Chaz Knight is coming to Grasshopper Pilates
Chaz Knight’s Pilates journey began in 2006 as a late-start dancer at the Fletcher Pilates School in Tucson, Arizona. There, he discovered the method’s transformative power—a discovery that propelled him, within just three years, from novice dancer to earning a full scholarship at the Graham School and joining the Graham Second Company in New York City. When an injury cut his dance journey short, he relocated to Los Angeles, immersing himself in the Whole Body Method School of Pilates. By 2014, he had not only completed his training but also risen to become a student mentor and, eventually, the lead educator for the Mat program.
Driven to deepen his expertise, Chaz enrolled in Romana’s Pilates program in 2018, studying under Trish Garland with mentorship from Moses Urbano. That same year, he founded Chaz Knight Pilates, marking a pivotal step in his career. His journey came full circle in 2022 when he earned certification from the Fletcher School of Pilates under Debrah Mendoza’s guidance and mentorship. In 2025, he completed the full Authentic Pilates training program under world-renowned teacher of teachers Inelia Garcia, further solidifying his mastery of the method.
Today, Chaz is a sought-after educator and mentor who shares the future of classical pilates as well as the roots of the contemporary work. He leads weekly mentorship sessions for aspiring teachers in Beverly Hills, and is a featured instructor on Pilatesology. Beyond teaching, he advises Los Angeles studios on hiring practices and conducts workshops on class structure and safety. A respected voice in the field, he has published articles in leading Pilates publications ,teaches at conferences worldwide and shares his passion for education on social media.

The United States is approaching its largest senior population in history—a demographic shift that represents significant opportunity for the Pilates industry. Yet many instructors feel unprepared to guide older clients with limited mobility through traditional workouts, creating frustration on both sides of the teaching relationship and leaving clients feeling uncomfortable or confused.
Pilates can be adapted for all bodies. With a thoughtful understanding of active seniors' needs, any teacher can lead this demographic through an empowering practice with confidence. In this workshop, Chaz demonstrates interchangeable movement series that follow varied sequencing patterns, each designed to honor the specific intent of every exercise. Our senior population can be among the most loyal and rewarding clients a teacher will encounter. Through intentional adjustments and modifications, instructors can help seniors feel strong, capable, and fully present in their practice.

The Intermediate Reformer Order serves as the critical bridge in the traditional system—integrating the technical foundation built at the basic level with the layered complexity required for advanced practice. Teachers who master the art of guiding clients through this progression gain the essential skills to ensure safety, build sustainable strength, and foster long-term client retention.
In this workshop, Chaz Knight presents an accessible, logical framework for introducing, developing, and spotting each exercise within the Intermediate Reformer Order. Participants will leave with practical hands-on spotting techniques, a refined eye for identifying common errors and misconceptions, and a reliable method for building each exercise from the ground up.

The shift from basic to intermediate Wunda Chair repertoire marks a defining threshold in a client's development. These exercises function as foundational building blocks for the athletic capacity required to master the broader intermediate system, with each movement following a logical progression that renders even the most demanding sequences attainable. Yet these same exercises introduce novel spinal mechanics and push the boundaries of athleticism—challenges amplified by the chair's minimal support, which raises the stakes for both instructor and client.
In this workshop, Chaz Knight shares essential preparations, progressions, and spotting techniques designed to help even the most reluctant Wunda Chair users discover success and enjoyment with this pivotal apparatus. Participants will learn optimal timing for introducing each exercise, how to layer them into meaningful session conclusions that yield balanced workouts, and confident spotting methods that educate and reassure simultaneously. The Wunda Chair breaks through plateaus, builds confidence, and pulls clients out of autopilot.

Wunda Chair Workshops with Gina Papalia
Building a Wunda-Fun Mat Chair Session
The Wunda Chair was designed as "home equipment". In this workshop, we will explore how to structure a 55-minute session from A-Z based on client level without losing flow or the classical approach. We will follow the Mat work order as a framework to build a logical sequence, transitioning from a stable platform to an unstable step.
Twisting all the air out of the Wunda Chair
This workshop applies the classical Wunda Chair exercises while inserting rotation to challenge both the body and mind in space. We will focus on wringing the air out of the body from head to toe, providing a deeper connection to the foundation and breath
To set the stage for what’s ahead, Marjon van Grunsven sat down with none other than our 2026 PPN conference presenters, Gina Papalia and Brooke Siler.
Tune in for an engaging conversation featuring personal stories, fresh insights, and an exclusive sneak peek into the conference theme and workshops.

The Pilates Standard: Reformer on the Spine Corrector Workshop
Reformer on the Spine Corrector
Take your knowledge of the reformer order and put it on the spine corrector. This is a critical-thinking experience for the mind and spine. Explore how the body moves and improves with focused use of the spine corrector.
What you’ll do
Reconsider familiar reformer exercises and apply them to the arc and contour of the spine corrector. Take time to breathe, pause and feel the articulation of the spine increases with the ease of the spice corrector.

0-99 Fascia WORKSHOP
Start strong in your Pilates workout! It begins with targeted movements to spot densifications and “stuck” glides in the body, before you do the “Hundred”. Step by step, toes to ankles, to wrist and neck. With plenty of pre-Pilates material and built-in corrections, you’ll experience an effective, safe, and fun full-body exploration.
A Systematic Journey into Body Awareness & Fascial Glide
The core of this work lies in fine-tuning the fascial glide—the vital ability of your connective tissue layers to slide smoothly over one another without friction or "velcro-like" snagging. Throughout the workshop, you will learn simple and effective exercises for the full body. To identify your own unique physical “stuck’ fascia densifications. Whether it was chronic restrictions from old injuries, postural weaknesses from daily habits, or a general lack of awareness. This is a great workshop for teachers to learn about their own bodies; then in return, build their own teaching tool kit.
